Authors Jessica Massa and Rebecca Wiegand talked to Better about their new dating advice book, The Gaggle: How the Guys You Know Will Help You Find the Love You Want. The book has been optioned for film by New Line Cinema. The authors say dating is no longer the path to love and that people go on "non dates" these days. The authors say they interviewed hundreds of people around the world to come up with the concept for the book.
The authors say a gaggle is the "group of guys in your life who play different roles, fulfill different needs, and help you figure out who you are, what you want, and what kind of relationship you ultimately desire." The authors say there are ten types of men a gaggle might include, such as the Ego Booster and the Boyfriend Prospect. The authors say you go on non dates with these men in your gaggle and they can help you find out the type of person you might fall in love with. The idea is to see the men in your life as filling these roles instead of looking at every man as if he is a potential soul mate. Take a look:
