Some Passwords Compromised at eHarmony
Posted on June 7, 2012There are reports that as many as 1.5 million passwords were stolen, but eHarmony writes that only a small fraction of its user base has been affected by the hack. eHarmony says it reset affected members passwords as a precaution and emailed them instructions about how to reset their passwords.
The main advice to take away from this is to use different passwords for each website you use. This way if a site you use is hacked, you won't have to worry about your other Internet accounts also being compromised. Strong passwords that include uppercase letters and symbols also help make it harder for cyber thieves to crack your password.
