A new CDC study of drug use and sexual behaviors has found that 4% of U.S. adults have never had sex. The study used data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, which ws conducted between 1999 and 2002. Mexican-American adults were the lowest demographic group to never have had sex. In this demographic, 88% have had sex while 12% have not.

The study also found that 16% of adults had sex before the age of 15. 15% of adults abstained from having sex until they were 21 or older. The proportion of people who first had sex before the age of 15 was highest for those with less than a high school education (28%). The study found that the more educated a person is the less likely they are to have had sex before age 15.

The study of sexual activity also found unsurprisingly that men have more sexual partners than women. 29% of U.S. men said they have had more than 15 sex partners.
